ETHIOPIAN GOVERNMENT DENIES KENYAN PIPELINE CONSTRUCTION DEAL.
The Ethiopian government has denied a deal announced by parliament saying that Kenya and Ethiopia had strike a pipeline construction deal. This statement was released by statehouse late last month when Ethiopia’s Prime Minister Hailemariam Desalegn visited Nairobi.
The Minister of Mines, Petroleum and Natural gas Mr Tolossa Shagi dismissed signing a formal agreement on construction of the pipeline saying they had only agreed to take some time to assess the matter.
However,Mr Shagi said they were going to hold more talks with the Kenyan government and may sign a contract if they find the project economically and technically valid, reported an Ethiopian newspaper on Saturday.
