In his two day visit to Nigeria, Fifa President Gianni Infantino on Monday told reporters in Abuja that if his proposal for the World cup tournament to be expanded to 40 teams goes through, Africa will be able to get two more spots at the 2026 tournament.
Infantino was elected as President early February this year and was accompanied by newly elect Secretary-General Fatma Samuora.Gianni also said he sees Nigeria as the bedrock for the development of football in the continent but also insisted that for this to be possible infrastructure, stability and security are a major requirement.
