If President Uhuru Kenyatta signs into law a bill passed yesterday by parliament for sugarcane farmers, cane farmers will be smiling all the way to their farms with these news.
The bill that was introduced by Mr.Wamunyunyi required sugarcane transporters to be exempted from paying Value Added Tax to the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA).He said that this will aid increased Sugarcane production and bring down the production cost.
Mps have already passed and signed the bill in agreement saying that farmers stand to benefit, for those who have been limited by the high cost of sugarcane transportation will be able to produce and transport their sugarcane at a minimum cost with high profit.
