Police say the Machakos Deputy Governors daughter who was reported missing on Wednesday was not kidnapped as earlier alleged. Kathleen Nduku was found in Sunton, Mwiki by CID officers and released back to her parents.
On Thursday morning, Nairobi CID boss Ireri Kamwende said the girl was found at a house in the area and realised she had not been kidnapped upon questioning.
It had been reported that Kialas daughter was kidnapped last Wednesday and demands made for Mr Kiala to stop his 2017 Machakos gubernatorial seat. In an apparent message sent to his wife by phone read and I quote, ‘’we have your daughter alive. We will release her but tell your husband if he runs for governor, it will not be the first attempt end of quote’’.
The alleged kidnapping has been a source of fierce exchange of words between Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka and Machakos governor Dr Alfred Mutua. At a political rally in Kibwezi last Friday, the wiper leader wanted police to question Mutua over the alleged disappearance.
Governor Mutua was so engraved and has threatened to institute legal proceeding for defamation against the wiper leader.
