KQ BOARD CHAIRMAN SAYS TOP BOSSES WILL NOT BE SACKED.

The Chairman of national carrier Kenya Airways board Dennis Awori yesterday came out in defense of his top bosses among them Kenya Airways Managing Director and CEO, Mbuvi Ngunze. Mr. Awori said no top boss was going to be sacked as demanded by the airline pilots.

He said the current leadership team is fully supported by the Board of Directors and the leadership officials have given solutions on how to return Kenya Airways back on its ‘wings.’ The CEO said pilots demands would not change even with boardrooms public support. He insisted they had come up with ways for Kenya Airways to return to profitability in highly challenging business environment.

A 5 per cent operational cost loss has been recorded in the financial year 2015/16.The airline has also had an increase of passenger numbers from 500,000 to 4.23 million while revenues increased 5 per cent to sh116.1 billion.
