Schools on fire seems to be the new trend in Kenya and we are yet to find out what has been causing these increased fires in schools. It was reported yesterday that five more different schools have been set on fire in Nyeri, Isiolo, Homabay, Narok and Iten respectively.
In Iten St.Patrick timber walled School dormitory housing 88 students was set on fire at around 7.30 pm in the night. The school principal Mr. Wilson Yego expressed his disappointment saying that he least expected this incident to happen in his school. He however urged the Education CS to order a school close down for all schools saying it will help calm down the ongoing school burning incidents.
Else where, Merti Muslim Girls Secondary school dormitory in Isiolo also went up in flames making it the first institution to report arson in the county. The fire was said to have been caused by form four students who were supposed to sit for their mock exams starting today. Other schools that were set on fire yesterday are Adega mixed school in Homabay and Giakaibii high school.
