Rebel Kilifi North MP Gideon Mung’aro was the first to take a step by renouncing ODM
as his party, followed by Fungula MP Paul Otouma who quit his position as the party’s national Vice Chairman
and now Budalang’i MP Ababu Namwamba has also resigned his position as Secretary General.
Ababu, who has served in the party’s top post for slightly over two years since the 2014
Party polls, announced his resignation from the party on Wednesday.
“I won’t let anyone make me do something I am not comfortable doing,” said Ababu in
an interview held earlier in the week.
The Budalangi MP, also said he has gone through a lot of suffering in ODM.He and Ouma
however, still maintain that they have not left the party and are still ODM members.
With only 14 months remaining to the 2017 General Election we cannot help but wonder
if the party will be strong enough to face its rivals.
